| New England Patriots vs. Atlanta Falcons Preview - August 19th |
|
Game 2 of the preseason for both of these teams takes place in the Georgia Dome on a steamy Atlanta night. Both the New England Patriots and the Atlanta Falcons are trying to find their way back into the Super Bowl picture after disappointing ends to both of their seasons last year. New England went 10-6 and lost in the Wildcard round to the Baltimore Ravens. The Falcons, on the other hand, went 9-7 and missed the Playoffs in the NFC. There will be a large amount of talent on the field for this game, as Tom Brady and Matt Ryan lead both of their clubs into battle. Only one team can win, however, and betsfreebets.com believes that you should place your free bet on the New England Patriots against the spread. As mentioned earlier, the Patriots have a wealth of talent, especially at the quarterback and wide receiver positions. Tom Brady is the quintessential NFL quarterback with great zip on his ball, good pocket presence, and an ability to find open receivers in tight coverage. Of course, it is easier to do this when you are throwing the ball to a guy like Randy Moss. Last year, Moss started all 16 games and amassed over 1,200 yards while scoring 13 touchdowns. This season will also mark the return of the diminutive, but dangers, Wes Welker. Welker had offseason knee surgery after tearing his ACL late in the season. He is questionable right now for Week 1, but it will be interesting to see if he has regained the speed that he has been known for in the past. For this preseason game, however, the Patriots will not need that much help to win the free wager over the Atlanta Falcons. While Matt Ryan fell slightly short of his rookie year numbers last season, it became very apparent that this quarterback was for real. Now, he just needs his backfield mates to come along for the ride. The tandem of Michael Turner and Jerious Norwood combined for over 1,000 yards rushing last season, but something was missing from the running attack. If the missing piece of the puzzle can be found, expect more than nine wins this year from Atlanta. On defense, Mike Peterson leads the way at the linebacker position. He is beginning his second season with the Falcons, so it should be interesting to see if he can have the same kind of success this season as he did a year ago. The Falcons just don't have as much talent as the Patriots do, which is the reason behind the free bet selection of the New England Patriots against the spread. Bill Belichick is one of the best head coaches in all of professional sports, and he knows how to motivate his players to be ready for any task that is put in front of them. For this reason, bets placed on the New England Patriots to win the Super Bowl this year might be pleasantly surprised come February. At this particular time, however, don't be surprised to see New England gunning the football downfield to see if their receivers are again up to the task this season. A free wager pick from betsfreebets.com says that the New England Patriots against the spread is the play to go with. |
