| Boston Red Sox vs. Seattle Mariners Preview - July 23rd |
|
As the Boston Red Sox look to remain firmly entrenched in American League East standings, the Mariners are trying to stay relevant in the West. Currently, Seattle is in last place by a few games, and they really need to start improving their play if they want to start seeing better results. They traded away arguably their best pitcher, and it looks as though Seattle is trying to liquidate most of its valuable assets in an attempt to get themselves in better financial position moving forward. Don't be fooled here, though, as the Red Sox are the better team and will no doubt play like it in this important contest. Stick to the advice of betsfreebets.com and take Boston with your free bet play for this Friday night showdown. A great combination of pitching and hitting has been the story of the season for the Red Sox and while they didn't have the best start to his season, they have certainly made up for it since mid-May. It has mostly been the hitting of Adrian Beltre and Kevin Youkilis that has set the Red Sox apart from mediocre teams in the American League. These two players have given the Red Sox the edge that they have needed in order to stick with the Rays and Yankees in their division. Good pitching has also gone a long way towards the team's current standing amongst baseball's elite. Clay Bucholz and Jon Lester have been pitching flat out brilliantly the entire season, and they do not look to be giving their dominant ways up any time soon. It is this pitching and the good number that the Red Sox are receiving on the mound that makes them a perfect play for the free wager. Besides Ichiro, the bats for the Mariners have been pretty cold the entire season. With top players like Milton Bradley, Jose Lopez, and Chone Figgins struggling every time they step to the plate, it has put Seattle in a precarious position in which they are 20 games under .500. Only one player on the entire Seattle roster has double digit home runs, which is Russell Branyan. Branyan's 33 RBIs rank second on the team to Justin Smoak and Franklin Gutierrez who lead the squad with only 36 RBI. Felix Hernandez and Jason Vargas have complemented Cliff Lee well up to this point in the season. Lee, however, is now in a Texas Ranger uniform and Hernandez is feeling the heat to step up and be the go-to guy for this staff once again. Too many people are being asked to do much more than they are capable of, which is a good reason to take the opposing Boston Red Sox for your free bet. While Seattle should prove to be a tough opponent, they will ultimately be no match for the Red Sox and their outstanding talent. Too many great hitters have been assembled on one club for the Seattle Mariners to overcome. The free wager pick of betsfreebets.com for Friday night is going to be the Boston Red Sox in a big win over the Seattle Mariners. |
