| Philadelphia Phillies vs. Toronto Blue Jays Preview - June 25th |
|
This interleague matchup should provide a great deal of action and excitement, as these teams are both looking to remain relevant in their respective divisional Playoff races. For the Phillies, they trail the Braves by quite a wide margin right now, so it is important that they keep with their winning ways in order to not fall any further behind. The Blue Jays are kind of in the same boat, with their Playoff hopes hinging on a good finish to the first part of the season. The Rays and Yankees are both beginning to widen the margin in the American League East, so the Jays have to continue to be competitive in these important games to not get themselves in a compromising situation. While this should be a closely contested game, betsfreebets.com is telling wagerers that the Blue Jays at home is going to be the best bet for the free wager winner on Friday night. While Roy Halladay and Cole Hamels continue their assault on National League hitters, the rest of the starting rotation leaves a lot to be desired. Kyle Kendrick and Jamie Moyer are both flirting with ERAs in the 5.00 range, and it appears as though the bullpen will continue to struggle, as they look for a solid rotation of pitchers that can be relied upon to relieve their starters. While guys like Jose Contreras and J.C. Romero are filling those spots nicely, the Phils need more than two players to be able to effectively compete throughout an entire season. Placido Polanco continues to have a nice season in his return stint with Philadelphia with a .314 batting average and only 24 strikeouts in 239 at bats. Ryan Howard and Jayson Werth also have been hitting well, but Philadelphia understands that the lower part of their batting order will have to start hitting much better if they are to win on a regular basis. The hitting that they do have will not be enough to overcome some of the Jays better pitchers, and it will be the Toronto Blue Jays getting the victory for everyone placing a free bet on the game. The trio of Romero, Marcum, and Cecil have been outstanding for the Jays starting rotation up to this point in the season. All three young pitchers will have to continue to show their outstanding talents if the Jays are to reach their ultimate postseason goals. For Romero, his 96 strikeouts in 96 innings pitched puts him near the top of the American League leaderboard for that particular category, and he is showing no signs of slowing down any time soon. Vernon Wells and Alex Gonzalez have really been showing a penchant for seeing the ball well up to this point in the season. Much of Toronto's success has been predicated on these two players getting the green light to swing for the fences, and it has been paying off very nicely. If Wells and Gonzalez continue their outstanding play, there is no reason to believe that the free wager for this game is in any jeopardy by being placed on the Toronto Blue Jays. While this game should be hotly contested, the home team Blue Jays have both home field advantage and better sticks at the plate. Both of these factors put together should be more than enough to get them a victory in game 1 of this weekend set. Betsfreebets.com suggests putting your free bet on the Blue Jays so you too can enjoy the money that Toronto will bring in for bettors. |
