While the clay season for the WTA Tour has been wildly inconsistent, it has been a real bull for the savvy tennis bettor. Huge underdogs have fallen mightily at each step along the road to Roland Garros. The top half of the draw presents more gems for French Open tennis betting. betsfreebets.com will peruse the sports betting lines for true favorites and mirages to find you your best chance at making serious profits during the 2010 French Open. Number one seed Serena Williams offers virtually no value at all until she meets Henin in a Williams v Henin matchup, or she meets Sam Stosur in a Williams v Stosur contest. There is no reason to back Williams at this point in the tournament, as you will be receiving pennies on the dollar for your efforts. In fact, the top quarter presents little in the way of true value in our opinion. There is a clear discrepancy in power between the top seeds in this quarter and the lesser seeds like Shahar Peer, Pavlyuchenkova, Bartoli and Sharapova. The best value may be to wager against the aforementioned middle seeds, as they will likely go down early. Marion Bartoli is a fantastic example of a middle seed player who should be wagered against in each successive round that she reaches. Her game is simply not suited for clay in any way, and she will be upset without question. So Bartoli v Camerin, Bartoli v Sanchez, or Bartoli v Perry all look like possible upset opportunities. The young Romanian Simona Halep has shown flashes of brilliance and should offer the seventh seed Stosur an early test. Sam is defending a semifinal berth here last year, and given her documented psychology, she will be very nervous to defend so many points early in the tournament. This should give Halep a fighting chance to create anxiousness for Stosur. In the end though, Stosur is currently the better player, so an over games scenario or taking the games in a spread situation might be the way to go in rounds one and two against Sam. The bottom end of the top half is ripe with underachieving high seeds and players with minimal preparation. Couple this with weak questionable mental fortitude and we have recipes for multiple upsets. There are no strong favorites in this quarter, and Radwanska v Shvedova looks promising for an upset at great value. The unseeded Ana Ivanovic is hungry to make an appearance in the second week in a final, and this venue may be just the perfect opportunity for her to show that her head is in the right place. It won't be easy, but she may pull off a string of upsets, creating multiple opportunities for tennis bettors to make significant profits on their investments. We fancy placing Ivanovic in an accumulator for Ivanovic v Kleybanova. Other likely possibilities include Ivanovic v Zvonareva, Ivanovic v Shvedova.
