A great day for Spanish fans Atletic as they beat the Greeks for a place in the UEFA Champion´s league. It seems that Kun and Forlan still have what it takes to keep on winning matches and scoring goals. The coach has stated during the press conference that he thinks the job is still not over as they have to win more matches in order to qualify, but the worst is probably over.

Lyon and Arsenal also made positive debuts in their route to the Champions League. The French team outsmarted their opponents by a wide margin while the English also beat Celtic away.

Barcelona on the other hand did not win their match. It was not for Champions League competition though as the team won the competition last year, it was for a local trophy called Joan Gamper which they lost to the British club Man city.

Madrid, Barcelona´s main competitor, did however win with good offensive play and a lot of goals against the Russian team Borussia. Kaka was perhaps one of the best players on the pitch and is set to be the new Zidane of the new Galactico era.
